Final Notes of the Pianos in Parks Season at Mission Park
The Pianos in Parks will soon be wrapping up for the 2026 season, which means there is still time to make some music at Mission Park Shopping Centre.
Since June, Mission Park has been home to the colourful Cristalina PARC piano—one of several playable works of art placed throughout Kelowna as part of Festivals Kelowna’s annual Pianos in Parks program.
The piano has given shoppers and visitors an unexpected opportunity to pause, take a seat and play a few notes. From familiar songs and impromptu performances to first attempts at tickling the ivories, it has brought creativity and music into the everyday experience of visiting the shopping centre.
Now in its 12th year, Pianos in Parks was created by Festivals Kelowna to bring music and visual art into public spaces. Each piano is decorated through a collaborative artistic effort and placed in an accessible location, creating an interactive experience that invites the community to participate.
Mission Park Shopping Centre is pleased to take part in the program and host artwork that encourages people of all ages and musical abilities to share in the joy of music.
As the season winds down, be sure to stop by Mission Park Shopping Centre if you have not yet had the chance to see, or play, the Cristalina PARC piano. Experienced musicians, enthusiastic beginners and curious first-time players are all welcome to sit down and share a little music before it leaves for the season.
